Ascent College (14525 John Marshall Highway Gainesville, VA 20155) is certified by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV – https://www.schev.edu/) to operate in Virginia as of May 23, 2005 and certified annually after that date.
Ascent College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education to grant certificates and degrees at the Associate and Baccalaureate levels. The Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), 5850 T.G. Lee Blvd., Orlando, FL 32822, 407-207-0808.
The Association for Biblical Higher Education is a North American agency that comprises over 200 postsecondary institutions throughout North America specializing in Biblical ministry formation and professional leadership education. It is an officially recognized “national accrediting association” by the U.S. Department of Education (https://www.ed.gov/). ABHE is an officially recognized “faith-based” accrediting agency by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (https://www.chea.org/) and is a part of a global network that relates to regional or continental higher educational agencies through the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (https://icete.info/).
Approved by the Potomac District Assemblies of God (https://www.potomacag.org/) to provide educational requirements for credentialed ministers with the Assemblies of God.
Ascent College is endorsed by the Assemblies of God and is a member of the Assemblies of God’s Alliance for AG Higher Education (https://colleges.ag.org/).
Approved to offer G.I. Bill® educational benefits by the Virginia State Approving Agency. G.I. Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
