In order to apply for admission to Ascent College using the Online Application for Admission, you must complete the following steps:
- Complete Application
- Submit an Application fee of $25
- Biographical Essay
Write a personal essay entitled “Why Ascent College?” Describe your spiritual journey including your personal Christian faith and growth, ministry experience, expectations, and goals in ministry. Please include why you feel called to Ascent College. If you are applying to the Potomac School of Leadership, please include why you are interestd in this program. This essay should be 2 pages (typed, double-spaced).
You will upload the essay in the application process.
- Official high school transcripts or official record of GED or official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. Transcripts can be emailed to apiehl@ascent.edu from an electronic clearinghouse or mailed to Amy Piehl from the school in a sealed stamped official envelope to Ascent College, PO Box 690 Gainesville, VA 20156-0690.
- You will need two references. One must be a pastoral reference. You will be asked to supply their email address for them to receive an email link.

Ascent College's financial aid school code is 041538. It may display as Bethel College, the former name of Ascent College.
