The four courses offered:
Leadership Health for Female Leaders (3 cr)
God calls leaders to finish well and multiply. Using the passage in 2 Timothy 1:1-18, the student will discover four foundations for leadership development and sustainability; personal leadership development (core-self), the power of story (communication), skillsets (calling), and a sustainable network (community). This class enforces that women grow stronger by being together; this is especially true when women connect intergenerationally and learn from one another.
Course offered Fall B (mid October -mid December)
Biblical Theology of Women in Leadership: Why Not Women? (3 cr)
This course tells the stories of women throughout the Bible and history. The use of Scripture and history provides two bookends that the issues concerning the ministry and leadership of women can be discussed and can help the student locate her story within the context of God’s story.
Course offered Spring Semester
Communicating for Transformation (3 cr)
This course helps women sharpen their communications skills in multiple settings and allow participants to explore how gender potentially affects communication and develops tools for speaking effectively to mixed-gender audiences. They will learn how to develop talks and messages that are biblically accurate and relevant, and applicable to their audience.
Course offered Fall A (mid-August-mid October)
How Remarkable Women Lead: A Breakthrough Model for Work and Life (3 cr)
Based on a five-year research study by McKinsey & Company, consultants Joanna Barsh and Susie Cranston linked five elements to all successful female leaders: meaning, framing, connecting, engaging, and energizing. This course is designed to bring definition and personal story to each trait and allow the students time for personal assessment to develop a strategic leadership growth plan for each element and enhance their lifelong leadership journey.
