Net Price Calculator

This calculator is intended to provide estimated net price information (defined as estimated cost of attendance - including tuition and required fees, books and supplies, room and board (meals), and other related expenses - minus estimated grant and scholarship aid) to current and prospective students and their families based on what similar students paid in a previous year.

Federal Financial Aid

Every student’s financial circumstances are unique. We highly encourage all students to complete the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) to explore federal and/or state aid eligibility. Financial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need. Federal and state governments have specific formulas that calculate student eligibility. To qualify for need-based aid, a student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC), as determined by the FAFSA, cannot exceed the total cost of attendance.

The FAFSA can be submitted online at www.studentaid.gov, or paper versions can be accessed by calling 800-433-3243. We recommend applying as soon as possible, using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer filed income tax information directly to the FAFSA.

The Ascent College School Code is 041538.

Federal financial aid is typically awarded in two forms:

  • Pell Grants: Funds awarded to eligible students that do not have to be repaid.
  • Federal Stafford Loans: Funds obtained through the U.S. Government’s direct loan program at low interest rates, consisting of both subsidized (the government pays the interest while the student is in school) and unsubsidized (the student pays the interest while in school or allows it to accrue and be added to the principal amount). Repayment of any principal and interest begins six (6) months after graduation, institutional withdrawal, or a drop below half-time status. Loans may not exceed the cost of attendance.

Please explore these Steps for Federal Financial Aid or this blog post to help guide your exploration of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

If the student’s semester GPA falls below 2.0 for a third consecutive semester and/or the cumulative GPA is below 2.0, the student may be placed on academic dismissal from the school and must wait for one semester before applying for readmission. The student will no longer be certified for GI Bill® benefits when the semester GPA falls below 2.0 for the third consecutive semester.
